ACB & MCCB Retrofitting
With the aging of critical electrical infrastructure and the reliance on quality reliable power, AED Project Services retrofitting solution is one of the most cost-effective ways to upgrade your ACB’s and MCCB’s without the long down times and costly switchboard replacements.
ACB’s provide the protection to your assets when they are needed most. As ACB’s age, they require a more stringent maintenance regime to ensure they operate effectively to clear faults. When an ACB has been in operation for 10 years, their reliability begins to decrease and after 15 years, the likelihood of a catastrophic failure during a protection event, even with ongoing maintenance would be very high.
Retrofitting ACB’s can be up to 70% cheaper than switchboard replacements and downtime is minimised. The modern ACB is equipped with protection units that provide more flexibility for clearing disastrous faults more quickly and safely.

ECI Cost Plans, Design & Construction
AED provides a three step ECI process to our valued clients. AED can be engaged for one, two or all three steps depending on your project requirements.
1. Preliminary Design & Order of Costs
AED works with the project stakeholders to overcome buildability issues, create project budgets and provide a preliminary design.
2. Detailed Design & Fixed Price Budget
AED works with suppliers, consultants, sub-contractors and project stakeholders to develop a 90% detailed design utilising industry smarts for cost saving options. During Step 2, AED will develop and provide a fixed price budget for the 90% design.
3. Design & Construct
AED will take the 90% design to completion and work with the construction team to deliver the project through to completion.
